Duchesnay Inc. located in Blainville (approximately 20 km north of Montreal) is a rapidly growing pharmaceutical company specialized in the design, development, manufacturing and distribution of women’s health products.

Medunik Canada, a Duchesnay’s sister company  located in Blainville, is a specialized pharmaceutical company whose mission is to improve the health and quality of life of Canadian with rare diseases. To this end, the company works at commercializing orphan therapies currently not available in Canada

Role and responsibilities:

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Director, Medical Affairs.  His or her main responsibilities will include :

  • Facilitate and enhance the development and recognition of products for Medunik Canada, Duchesnay Inc. and Duchesnay USA
  • Identify, establish, and maintain collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders and organizations strategic for product development
  • Participate in medical education for healthcare professionals through presentations at investigator meetings, advisory boards, and other appropriate venues to enhance product and/or disease knowledge
  • Coordinate and develop medical education programs and provide training to the teams responsible for product promotion
  • Develop scientific material for distribution to KOLs
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues (including but not limited to sales, business development, market access, and regulatory affairs) to provide scientific expertise for products or the therapeutic areas of interest, such as providing assistance with the writing of regulatory submissions, reviewing marketing materials, and conducting clinical reviews of potential products
  • Conducting literature searches and synthesizing findings as appropriate for internal departments (ie. creating executive summaries, clinical presentations or natural history of the disease documents for market access)
  • Support for reimbursement files by providing explanation/comparison of the cost of the therapy/product and by the review of reports of assessors/auditors for Common Drug Review
  • Responsible for the qualification of scientific projects for the R&D Tax Incentive Program and the annual report to Revenue Canada and Quebec

Key skills:

  • Capacity to synthesize and analyze scientific information in a marketing, regulatory and business context
  • Strong ability to develop relationships and promote peer-to-peer dialogue with key opinion leaders and decision makers
  • High quality interpersonal and communication skills including oral presentation skills
  • Collaborative and team-oriented
  • Strategic mindset, and strong critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Strong leadership and autonomy
  • Ability to generate relationships of cooperation and trust that promote a good work environment

Required qualifications:

  • Relevant Graduate degree (PhD preferred)
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry
  • Knowledge of the therapeutic areas of interest is an asset, however, the ability to acquire expertise in other therapeutic areas and products, depending on pipeline and/or changing business priorities, is essential
  • Experience in coordination of multidisciplinary teams, projects and initiatives
  • Experience creating and/or managing clinical/scientific trials
  • Strong verbal and written skills in French and English
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Willing to travel approximately 30% of the time
